The European Film Festival has become a traditional autumn event that for two decades has attracted Jordanian cinema lovers and resident foreigners to a wide range of films produced in Europe. The 21st edition will mainly take place in Amman, at the Al Hussein Cultural Centre, along with screenings of selected movies in the cities of Zarqa, Irbid, Aqaba & Karak. As has always been the case, watching the movies is free of charge and open to the public.

Jordan Short Film Festival

In cooperation with Jordan Short Film Festival, the European Film Festival is very pleased to be able to screen the two Jordanian short films, Magic Powder and Just Another Nice Day. The films will be screened in connection with the Italian film, Mid-August Lunch, and the Finnish Film, Ricky Rapper.



Magic Powder, directed by Abdallah Dgheimat, is a five minute long documentary film about Jordanian village women making mascara the way they used to for hundreds of years. The second short film, Just Another Nice Day, is also a five minute long documentary directed by Sami Osheibat. The film is about a filmmaker following his young brother around the farm on a lazy Friday morning.
